Confronting the Conscience of a Nation

I don’t want to look—
Just go away!
Don’t show me the truth,
Don’t put on display
Those gruesome sights
That don’t make my day.

Don’t show me those parts
All bloody and torn,
What’s left of the babe
Who cannot be born.
You can’t blame me—
I’ve done no harm.

What?  You make the laws,
You Congress and Senate,
And you, Supreme Court,
Have your fingers in it!
Yes, you’re to blame,
To this very minute.

I don’t want to look.
It’s money, you see;
Big business and profit!
I care about ME.
Don’t ask me to vote
Or to referee.
If I don’t look,
Then I won’t see.

    1. What grieves my heart so much is that professing fellow Christians vote for pro-abortion candidates! I feel betrayed by many in the body of Christ. Sometimes I just want to shake them by the shoulders and yell, "Wake Up!!"
