Love Goes On and On

She may not wear high fashion,
Or go about with “airs.”
She may not have the latest “do,”
Or know about “The Bears.”

But clothed with strength and dignity,
She laughs at days to come.
She knows it snows and has no fear
As she protects her home.

Her children rise and call her blessed,
And husband sings her praise.
She does him good and never harm,
The full length of his days.

He lacks no confidence in her,
She works with eager hands.
Her arms are strong for every task;
In business, takes her stand.

Her heart is for the needy.
Instruction’s on her tongue.
Charm deceives and beauty leaves,
But love goes on and on.

I dedicate this tribute to godly mothers to my own mother, Elva Yoder.  I stand and salute you, Mom; I stand and call you blessed.  Happy Mother's Day!  I love you.

“Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. ‘Honor your father and your mother’—which is the first commandment with a promise—‘that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.’”  Ephesians 6:1-2 NIV

My poem was constructed from Proverbs 31:10-31.
